©️ Copyright Claim Release
Received a copyright claim for using my music on YouTube?
No worries — you’re in the right place, and I’m here to help you resolve it. First off, thank you for choosing my music for your YouTube content! I truly support creators and am happy for you to use my tracks in monetized videos. You can keep 100% of the revenue generated from your content, as long as you’ve followed the usage policy.
Let’s walk through how to clear up that claim.
Why did I get a copyright claim?
While I’m happy to let content creators use my music, there’s just one simple thing I’ve always asked in return:
Include the full song title and a link to the original video on TheFatRat’s YouTube channel. In other words — a proper credit. In exchange, you get to fully monetize your video, and it stays claim-free at all times.
So if you’ve received a copyright claim, it’s likely you just forgot to add the credit.
No worries — it happens!
Important: Please read and follow the steps below carefully to get the claim released.
How do I fix this?
-
First, make sure you mention the full song title/-s in your video description including all artist’s names. Like for example: TheFatRat & Anjulie - Fly Away.
-
Make sure to write everything correctly. For example my artist name is TheFatRat. If you write The Fat Rat, FatRat, or Fat Rat or similar, the system cannot detect it as a proper credit.
-
Add the link to the original video on TheFatRat’s YouTube channel to your video description (in few cases where it is a remix for example you might find the video on The Arcadium channel).
-
If you want to do us a favour, you can additionally add the linkfire link or the feature ffm link of that specific song as well which you’ll find in the description of the original YouTube video; or add the link to TheFatRat bio: https://ffm.bio/thefatrat
-
Dispute the claim and mention in the note section that you added a proper credit.
-
The claim will be released within 72 hours if you credited properly.
But I already credited you and still received a claim
There are a few potential causes for this:
-
A song you chose was not free for usage. Make sure it's a free to use song
by checking out https://www.thefatrat.com/downloads All of the songs
listed here are free to use and free to download. Everything else is not.
-
A Copyright claim was added for a different reason, not because of my
music.
-
You misspelled my name, track title or inserted a wrong link to the video.
Contact us if you still have issues
